About the event

Food on Film: SPRING // (un)Sustainable Living

Food on Film is a season of events delivered in partnership between University of Exeter and Exeter Phoenix. In the spring season we’re thinking about sustainable and unsustainable practices, from how we grow our food and look after the land to how we treat other animals or each other. THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER, which sees a group of Malawian farmers impacted by climate change head to the US to try to persuade producers there that it won’t be long before they start to feel the effects too. There will also be panel discussions a chance to think about more socially sustainable food production.

About the film

How do you change someone's mind about the most important thing in the world? Anita Chitaya has a gift: she can change farmers' minds about what to grow, she can change what people love to eat, and she can even persuade men to fight for gender equality. Now, to save her home in Malawi from extreme weather, she faces her greatest challenge: persuading Americans that climate change is real.
