In honor of Native American Heritage month, we'll be focusing all 3 of our November Couch Convos meetings on the UC Davis Land Acknowledgement and the Patwin people, who's land UC Davis is on. Although we can only scratch the surface in 3 meetings, our goal is to learn more about the history and perspective of Native peoples, and current issues faced by indigenous people in the US. For the first of these meetings (on 11/2), we'll be screening Gather to learn more about the challenges and initiatives around Native Americans' food sovereignty.

Gather

Gather Screening with Couch Convos

Gather is an intimate portrait of the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political and cultural identities through food sovereignty, while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide.
