Host Spotlight: American Farmland Trust

Last year Kinema partnered with the American Farmland Trust to help them host their screening and discussion series called Free Range Conversations. The following is a short write up about AFT's experience with Kinema.

As a national organization, our constituents are spread out across the US, so we’ve always depended on print materials, mailings, emails, our website, and social media to keep our supporters informed. But when the pandemic took away our ability to connect one-on-one with people at events, conventions, and in-person meetings, we had to find new ways of engaging with them in a more personal way.

Learning about the virtual cinema experience Kinema provides helped us create a new type of online event that’s perfect for these remote times. We launched our Free Range Conversation Film Series so that we could explore various agricultural topics through film and gather together, regardless of location, to have an online conversation. This has been a great way to let visual storytelling connect us to our longtime supporters as well as a new audience who are drawn to the virtual cinema medium and help us feel more united in our mutual goal of protecting farmland and ensuring success for our nation’s farmers.”
