After Spring - Screening Resilience with The Civilian Agenda

Screening Resilience is The Civilian Agenda’s monthly screening series for 2026 - bringing together newer and older films to raise awareness and ensure that no civilian voice in war is lost. Each screening is an invitation to listen carefully: to the stories people survive, the memories communities carry, and the realities that persist as violence continues. By resurfacing older voices alongside more recent work, we aim to hold space for what is too often forgotten.

January’s film: After Spring (2016) After Spring is a documentary following Syrian families and aid workers inside Jordan’s Zaatari refugee camp as they build lives in conditions defined by displacement, uncertainty, and resilience. The film offers an intimate portrait of everyday courage, showing not only crisis, but the complex ways people create community and dignity amid prolonged conflict.
