The film features interviews with students, patients, doctors, midwives, politicians and advocates offering compelling and often deeply emotional testimony as to why this practice must end.

In this political time, when women’s health concerns are being sidelined, and even erased, films like 

 are critical. Eighty-four percent of medical students have done non-consensual exams on patients under anesthesia, most of whom do not know about it. Black patients are four times more likely to experience a non-consensual intimate exam.

In this panel discussion, we discuss why we need to call “medical sexual assault” what it is, what makes that hard, what trauma-informed care looks like and how clinical training impacts the care patients ultimately receive. Our panelists share how we got here, what we can do and are doing legislatively, what our legal rights are, and talk about the larger issue of the culture within patient-provider relationships and the system of medicine that has allowed MSA to go on unmitigated for so long.
