The Resistance & Joy Screening Tour is a bold new initiative by Color Congress presenting a powerful slate of short documentaries, all directed by filmmakers of color. These films highlight activism, social justice movements, and the fight for equity across different communities.
Block 1: Reclaiming IdentityThrough intergenerational storytelling, bold artistic expression, and lived experiences, this block of films centers personal journeys of self-discovery, healing, and belonging.

Following the screening, we will host a panel discussion led by photojournalist and filmmaker Patience Zalanga, joined by four local leaders. Together, they will discuss the importance of liberation, documentation, and how storytelling continues to be a vital tool in community resistance and collective joy.

Queermunity is a vibrant event venue, gathering space, and café located in Minneapolis, committed to providing high-quality experiences for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities and their allies. The space exists to serve and uplift the communities it represents by maintaining a truly affordable place to gather, celebrate, work, and create, while supporting local farmers, artists, makers, and small businesses.
Rooted in the values of a regenerative economy, Queermunity prioritizes systems that restore, renew, and strengthen the people and communities it serves. This includes actively reinvesting in local talent, organizations, and resources to amplify what is already working and foster meaningful partnerships that support long-term growth, creativity, and connection.
The venue includes both stairs and an elevator, making the space accessible to attendees with varying mobility needs.
