CLEMENTE: A Film, A Legacy
A passionate ode to one of the most influential names in baseball, Clemente explores the life and legacy of Roberto Clemente — a figure whose impact holds special meaning here in Miami. Long before Wynwood became the arts district we know today, it was home to “Little San Juan,” a vibrant Puerto Rican community just blocks away from Roberto Clemente Park. Screening this film in the heart of that neighborhood brings his story full circle.
From Clemente’s unmatched talent on the field to the trail he blazed for generations of Latino ballplayers, to his humanitarian spirit and sacrifice, this documentary presents his legacy in a moving, inspiring way. Emotional interviews with those who knew him best — including his family, former teammates, and notable voices like Michael Keaton, Bob Costas, Yadier Molina, and Rita Moreno — deepen the portrait of a man who transcended sport.
Executive produced by LeBron James and Oscar nominee Richard Linklater, Clemente is a powerful tribute to a cultural icon — and, in Miami, a reminder of the history, pride, and resilience that continue to shape our community today.
Join Miami EdTech in partnership with the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of South Florida for an evening of community, conversation, wine, cheese, and coquito as we honor Clemente’s legacy together!
