About the film
Mauri is a powerful documentary film that invites us into the living world of Māori healing. Guided by elders and lineage holders, the film weaves land, language, and ceremony into a story of intergenerational care and ancestral remembering. Filmed in Aotearoa, Mauri honors the sacred ways that continue — even in the wake of colonization — and offers a gentle, profound glimpse into the resilience of cultural memory and connection.

About the space
THE PEOPLE'S BUILDING believes there is a direct link between the arts and a thriving community. This is a place where artists of all disciplines can explore, educate and perform while inspiring metro-area residents. Through high-quality and affordable event, performance and rehearsal space, this is a place for those who have something to share. It's also a beautiful facility for meetings, social gatherings—and even the occasional wedding. The People’s Building seeks to become a part of the national arts conversation, be a haven for artists in an ever growing metropolis, and offer a collage of programming that is as diverse as our community.
