New York Times Critic's Pick and Winner of the Jury Prize for Best Documentary at SXSW 2025, Shuffle offers a intimate look at fraud and corruption in the substance abuse treatment industry, laying bare the human cost of a system ruled by relapse and repeat business rather than recovery. Shot over the course of three years, Shuffle unravels a web of public policy and private interest preying on a vulnerable population for the sake of profit.
