The story:

A destiny-altering air battle over the Austrian Alps; capture and imprisonment in an infamous POW camp; a desperate, deadly march across a frozen Europe - all elements of an iconic war story. But the burden of history is carried by more than just the people on the front lines, and it endures long after the guns stop firing. Combat veterans often bear scars, psychological and physical. Sometimes their family members endure pain, passing along generational trauma to their offspring.  This intimate film explores one family’s journey through passion, bravery and loss during WWII and the decades that followed - a story that resonates with combat veterans and their families, while enlightening those who've never directly faced the trauma of war.
