About the event

The documentary “Israelism” explores the growing divide in the American Jewish community about Jewish attitudes toward Israel. Two young American Jews, Simone Zimmerman, cofounder of the U.S. Jewish group, IfNotNow, and Eitan, an American who served in the IDF, are raised to see Israel as synonymous with their Jewishness. They become disillusioned of theirdedication to the State of Israel, as they become aware of the occupation ofthe West Bank, the blockade of Gaza and the living conditions of thePalestinians. This is a timely documentary as the occupation in Gaza continues and Prime Minister Netanyahu and his far-right government affirm that the Palestinians will never attain sovereignty.
