About the event
Hollins University is proud to bring RATIFIED to the Roanoke Valley. We welcome all to this special screening and a 30-minute discussion afterward with two community leaders: Freeda Cathcart (President of the GFWC Star Woman's Club, Founder of By the Women for the Women Vote) and Elysse Stolpe (Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Waynesboro and Adjunct Professor of Law at UVA). The event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
This non-partisan event is sponsored by the Niantic Charitable Trust, the Hollins University Batten Leadership Institute and Department of Gender & Women’s Studies, the GFWC Star Woman’s Club, and the Latinas Network of Roanoke in partnership with CommUNITY-ARTS Reach and the Roanoke Democracy Center.

About the film
Most Americans believe the Constitution protects gender equality. It does not. RATIFY follows 3 brave women who unexpectedly accept the reins to carry forward a 100-year struggle to build a more inclusive movement and finally enshrine gender equality in the Constitution.

About the space
The Frances Niederer Auditorium at the Richard Wetherill Visual Arts Center is a 120-seat screening space with graduated seating and wheelchair access at the top and bottom the room. Parking will be available for the event.
