Joy Kahn Harter is the owner/operator of Anchored Passages LLC. Joy is a masters level mental health counselor specializing in grief and loss. She is an End-of-Life Specialist, having received her Death Doula and Conscious Dying Coach training with the Conscious Dying Institute in 2020. Joy has worked with elders and their families since 1995 and has served as a health facility administrator, social worker, professional resource, counselor, and guide to those navigating the challenges and passages of life and death. 

Joy was born and raised in Woodstock, New York, and has lived in Bloomington, Indiana since 1988.  Joy has her BA in Psychology from Kenyon College and her MS in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University. Joy is a holistic practitioner incorporating sound healing and relaxation techniques into her practice. Joy is a Reiki 3 Master Practitioner and integrates energy work in both her professional and personal life. Joy enjoys facilitating various conversations about death and end of life in the Bloomington community. She hosts grief support groups as well as volunteering with 

as an online co-facilitator for their Living with Loss Circles. Joy provides competent and compassionate non-medical guidance and support to individuals and their families during the difficult passages of life. Learn more “About Joy” on her website at
