 is presenting this special online Limited Release opportunity to see the film. A portion of all ticket proceeds will support survivors at the Mary Parrish Center, founded by Lt. Mark Wynn's late wife, Valerie Joy Wynn, and named in honor of Lt. Mark Wynn's Mother.  

 provides survivors of interpersonal violence and their children safe, accessible and compassionate housing with individualized care that promotes healing, autonomy and hope. 

3 ways to take action in your community: 

 far too often domestic and family violence issues are pushed aside as a “women’s issue.” But 95% of DV & family violence incidents are perpetrated by men. We need men to stand up and publicly decry “zero tolerance for violence against women and children.” Sign the pledge from 

 to become an active ally on this issue. Are there mentor programs in your community for men to provide positive role models to childhood survivors? How can your community’s men’s groups become more aware of this issue? Do your local faith leaders and organizations support survivors in your community? Is your local law enforcement supportive of your local shelter/s?

REACH OUT TO YOUR LOCAL SHELTERS; SEE WHAT THEY NEED:

 DV and family violence shelters carry a heavy load and often with extremely limited funding. They often have to keep lower profiles so that women and children can remain safe. No one likes to think about this issue, so reaching out can mean the world of difference. Aside from donations, many shelters have an “Amazon List” of needs. Organize drive in your community to fulfill these needs during October (Domestic Violence Awareness Month). Or like the 

 - a men’s organization does in Dallas - you can coordinate volunteers to mentor childhood survivors and build, fix or update safe living quarters at your local shelter.

KNOW YOUR COMMUNITY’S DV AND FAMILY VIOLENCE STATS:

 This allows you to be an active participant in mitigating the issue locally. How many DV calls does your precinct receive per year? A simple call to your local police precinct asking for this information shows that the community is aware and tracking this issue.

“I lived with a monster. I know how this works.” Lt. Mark Wynn challenges fellow police officers to end generations of disregard and systemic failures around domestic violence. While training officers in rural Texas, Mark revisits his childhood home for the first time since he escaped as a child and confronts his family’s traumatic past. How was he able to break the cycle of violence that traps so many men?

With access to sensitive police trainings, the film explores the complex relationship between police and family violence. By revealing his own haunting childhood, Mark challenges other men to stand up and reform the system to better help women and children. “Men create 98% of these crimes – it’s up to us to stop the violence.”

Bringing together the Producers, Impact Producers and Filmmakers from The Homestretch, Audrey & Daisy, Private Violence and Bully, this project brings a unique depth to the dialogue around police reform and challenges perceptions of violence against women and children.
