  • 45% of the proceeds will go to the film team, 45% will be donated to Operation Olive Branch and 10% will go to the Kinema website for all online support in hosting the event. (the host has also purchased a ticket and offers their space for the screening)

Come gather for a potluck and special screening of a most insightful and couragous film - Where the Olive Trees Weep - a film about the struggles and the resilence of the Palestinian people. This film has been made available for a limited period of time by the directors and licenced by the host for a private screening. Brave the tropical rain and come to bear wit(h)ness, to gain a deeper understanding, to be in community and to contribute.

Please plan to be 15 mins early. The film will begin on time at 7pm.

Please remeber to bring some food and drink to share.The ticket price does not include food and drink as the proceeds go toward the film team and to a charity .

*The venue is not accessible by wheelchair at this time due the monsoon. Please contact the host for any other accessibility requirements.

*Parking is available, however please be prepared to wade through puddles and mud due to to the weather and to climb a small slope . Updates closer to the date

About the film

Where Olive Trees Weep offers a searing window into the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation. It explores themes of loss, trauma, and the quest for justice.We follow, among others, Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darwish, grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi, and Israeli journalist Amira Hass. We witness Dr. Gabor Maté offering trauma-healing work for a group of women who have been tortured in Israeli prisons. Ancient landscapes bear deep scars, having witnessed the brutal reality of ancestral land confiscation, expulsions, imprisonment, home demolitions, water deprivation, and denial of basic human rights. Yet, through the veil of oppression, we catch a glimpse of resilience—deep roots that have carried the Palestinian people through decades of darkness and shattered lives.This emotional journey bares the humanity of the oppressed while grappling with the question: what makes the oppressor so ruthlessly blind to its own cruelty?
