William Faulkner Around The World Celebration: Special Event Q&A and Documentary Screening

Join the team behind the documentary film Faulkner: The Past Is Never Dead as they speak with Faulkner scholar Dr. Peter Lurie, an associate professor of English and Film Studies at the University of Richmond. We will have a brief 15-20 minute Q&A discussion to learn his insights and influence Faulkner had followed by a screening of the film.

The discussion with Dr. Peter Lurie will begin at 3:00PM Central Time.

About Dr. Peter Lurie:

Peter Lurie is Associate Professor of English and Film Studies at the University of of Richmond.  He’s taught cinema and American literature at Harvard, Oxford, and the Universities of Paris and Warsaw, the latter on a Fulbright in 2015.  He is the author Vision’s Immanence: Faulkner, Film, and the Public Imagination (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2004) and American Obscurantism: History and the Visual in U.S Literature (Oxford 2018) and the Editor, with Ann J. Abadie, of Faulkner and Film: Faulkner and Yoknapatawpha 2010 (Mississippi 2012).. Between 2018 and 2013 he served as the Editor of the Faulkner Journal
