About the film
In this provocative drama-comedy exploring the range of ways that Asian Americans react to racism, shot in the waning days of the pandemic, in the wake of a rising tide of anti-Asian hate, the Lee family — father Isaac (Ken Jeong, THE HANGOVER), mother Jenna (Jae Suh Park, FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE), son Benjamin (Emerson Min, ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE), Grandma Shim (MeeWha Alana Lee, THE CHAIR), and Benjamin's visiting maybe-friend, maybe-more Elia (Miya Cech, Netflix's THE LAST AIRBENDER) — depart the Bay Area for a fresh start in the rural expanses of Wyoming, only to encounter a xenophobia in their new community.
How they confront the will break them — or make them stronger.

What people are saying
‘“With each new, vulnerable position that the protagonists are placed in, I feel myself clench up with a familiar “fight or flight” flutter in my chest as I wait for things to escalate—or resolve in quiet, swallowed humiliation. But the film is more than a mere collection of micro- and not-so-micro aggressions, as we are presented with how differently each character interprets and reacts to bigotry. This is where the writing really shines in maintaining complexity and coherence in the way each Asian character grapples with race and identity in a distinct way.”‘

‘“Ken Jeong’s non-comedic acting chops shine through. If you get a chance to see the film – you should!”‘
