About the film
A Sacred Pause steps out of the rush of the world into something quieter and deeply human. The film follows Erik, a father and farmhand at Selah Carefarm in Northern Arizona, learning to live after the murder of his three children. Holding his newborn daughter, Josie, and alongside his partner, Shiloe, he moves between grief and love, devastation and hope. This is not a story about moving on, but about learning to live with loss.
Interwoven is the work of Selah Carefarm, where bereaved individuals are supported in a group workshop. Founded by Dr. Joanne Cacciatore after the loss of her own child, Cheyenne, the farm is also home to rescued animals who offer quiet comfort. With no platitudes or timelines, the film honors the act of simply bearing witness.
A Sacred Pause is a meditation on grief, love, and what it means to truly care.
