About the film
Flame retardants are everywhere, and most unfortunately, they are inside of your house, and inside of your own body, right now as well. They are used in all kinds of products, and many of those are completely unnecessary. Beginning in the 1970’s, the tobacco industry directly and indirectly happened to influence the prevalence of these chemicals to become as American as apple pie. Through their decades of use, and our potential exposures all over the globe, these chemicals are now found in every single life form on the planet. This film explores how all of this happened, and where we go from here.
