About the film

Over the course of one year, Cotswolds: Field & Folk follows the people who live and work in one of England’s most iconic landscapes — from farmers and shepherds to ecologists, conservationists and local communities.

Through the changing seasons, we see the reality of working with the land today, and the challenges facing the Cotswolds as the climate changes. How do you farm when the weather is increasingly unpredictable? How do you protect nature while making a living? And what choices need to be made now to secure a better future for the land and the people who depend on it?

Through intimate stories and conversations with those on the ground, the film explores how centuries of farming and rural life have shaped the hills, fields and villages we know today, while meeting the people who are finding new ways to care for them.

A celebration of the landscape, the people who shape it, and the difficult choices being made to protect its future.
