About the film

HomeTown Hero is a social-impact narrative about two Samoan brothers from Nānākuli, Hawai‘i, who have a struggling relationship with one another. The older brother, Johann, has an opportunity to leave in pursuit of his dream but he must first save his younger brother Jakey from his drug addiction and mental health challenges. The film highlights the local culture in Hawai‘i along with the life challenges that Pacific Islanders face everyday.
