About the film
In this multi-award-winning portrait of artistic resilience, singing legend Carol Sloane prepares at age 82 for one final live recording in New York, while reflecting on an extraordinary but mostly unknown career involving everyone from Ella Fitzgerald to The Beatles.
SLOANE has won 12 "best documentary" awards, overwhelming critical acclaim, and has screened all over the world, from Palm Springs to Cannes 2024. Michael Feinstein, one of the leading authorities on The Great American Songbook, has called the film "a superior musical tour de force and virtual shot in the arm, documenting not only Carol’s career through her emotional story, but also brilliantly encapsulating a history of popular music through changing times and passing fancies."

‘“Few profile documentaries capture the kind of honesty and intelligence of a person’s very being as this one, and it does it well. Incredibly well, even. To leave this world by singing on your way out... that’s beautiful.”‘
