The Tide Mills Project - the abandoned village

On Seaford beach lies the ghost of a village. Tide Mills, a thriving 19th-century coastal community, was dismantled in 1940 at the outbreak of the Second World War. The Tide Mills Project follows LYT Productions, a not-for-profit youth and community organisation, as they bring its history back to life through the Tide Mills Heritage Celebration week.

The hour-long film features first-hand interviews with former residents, footage of artists building monumental site-specific installations, including willow horse sculptures and giant zoetropes, and the young production team's battle against weather and logistics to welcome over 20,000 visitors.

The documentary premiered to sold-out South East cinemas, with special screenings at The Depot in Lewes and the Barn Theatre in Seaford.
