In retro-future LA, Andrea, a lonely roboticist, neglects her life to finish her masterpiece – IRIS. While teaching IRIS the ropes of being sentient, she realizes she must patch things up with her father. By giving birth to artificial life, Andrea learns how to live a real organic life.

In a dystopian future, citizens live and work in Company towers a thousand stories tall, bound by a strict contract to build robotics for a far-off war. Unsanctioned vices, especially relationships with the androids they build, are severely punished. When Conor watches the vice police arrest his neighbor, he fears he and Dosso, the hacked android he loves, will be next. As they attempt to flee the tower, Max, the head of the Vice Department, sets a plan in motion that will tear Conor and Dosso apart — and introduce Conor to a renegade group called the Friends of Sophia.

Friction (2024) is a short experimental documentary uncovering the social erasure and segregation of trans identities, the ‘friction’ in body conceptualization. The film features Yuqi Zhang, a closeted transgender woman in her 30s living in mainland China, as she navigates these challenges firsthand. Yuqi faces a harrowing choice: risk social abandonment by embracing her true self or endure the mental strain of remaining invisible to stay safe. She strives to balance familial expectations, societal constraints imposed on her body and choices, her growing gender dysphoria and depressive symptoms, and her pursuit of a happy and fulfilling life.

When their mothers' health deteriorates, estranged brothers, RAJESH and SHIVA are unexpectedly reunited to decide how to move forward. Meanwhile, society has turned to BREATHE, an app that allows its users to erase their painful memories and live in eternal bliss. Rajesh, a realist, struggles with his brother Shiva, the optimist and BREATHE addict. Their differing perspectives on how to cope creates a strife between them that may be irreconcilable. Against the backdrop of a society seduced by memory erasure, their battle is a poignant exploration of family, culture, technology, and the resilience of the human spirit.
