About the event
Against The Tide is a poetic and powerful documentary that follows two Indigenous Koli fishermen in Mumbai as they navigate the rising tides of climate change, ecological loss, and personal transformation. Set against the backdrop of a city in flux, the film offers an intimate portrait of the tensions between tradition and survival, friendship and responsibility, nature and modernity.
This special on-demand screening is part of the Global Climate Playlist, a curated series by Doc Society’s Climate Story Unit and Kinema spotlighting urgent climate stories from around the world. Available for free from May 26–30, this exclusive event offers early access to the film ahead of its wider release.
Don’t miss the live virtual Q&A on Friday, May 30 at 10AM EST / 4PM CEST / 7:30PM IST, featuring director Sarvnik Kaur and producer Koval Bhatia, moderated by Julian Etienne from the Climate Story Fund.
