Grace Lee Boggs was a writer, civil rights activist, feminist, and one of the most important figures of the Asian-American sociopolitical movement. Her astonishing and long life, which includes over 75 years of radical leftist activism alongside the likes of Malcolm X and Angela Davis, is exquisitely documented here by filmmaker Grace Lee (no relation).

Grace Lee Boggs, is a Chinese American philosopher, writer, and activist in Detroit with a thick FBI file and a surprising vision of what an American revolution can be. Rooted for 75 years in the labor, civil rights and Black Power movements, she challenges a new generation to throw off old assumptions, think creatively and redefine revolution for our times. 2014 Peabody Award Winner and six festival audience awards. Broadcast on PBS documentary series POV. Grace Lee Boggs passed away at age 100 in October, 2015.

Grace Lee Boggs is an activist and philosopher in Detroit who has dedicated her life to the next American Revolution and the possibility of a better, more just future for all of humanity. At age 97, she has been building movements and developing strategies for social change for most of her life -- reminding us that revolution is not only possible and necessary, but a process that must always be in motion.
