About the event
As one of six or seven programs that the Salisbury Forum presents, the screening of Food and Country will be followed by a presentation by Rebecca Busansky, executive director of Berkshire Agricultural Ventures and several local farmers, describing the local food economy in the northwest corner of Connecticut, southern Berkshire County in Massachusetts, northern Dutchess County of New York. The event will be publicized through our listserv of 2,600 and advertising.
About the film
America’s policy of producing cheap food at all costs has long hobbled small independent farmers, ranchers, and chefs. Worried for their survival, trailblazing food writer Ruth Reichl reaches out across political and social divides to uncover the country’s broken food system and the innovators risking it all to transform it.
