Presented with Thomas Jefferson University, DocNights showcases celebrated contemporary documentaries exploring vital issues that affect our world, followed by enriching post-screening Q&As featuring the documentary subjects, filmmakers, and university conversation partners. During 2021-2022, DocNights will present films that engage with facets of environmental justice, including how it relates to health, race, gentrification, food sovereignty, and more. Presented in partnership with the Philadelphia Film Society.
About the film
A portrait of a growing movement amongst Indigenous Americans to reclaim their spiritual and cultural identities through obtaining sovereignty over their ancestral food systems, while battling against the historical trauma brought on by centuries of genocide.
