About the event
Join Amnesty International Taiwan English Speaking Group for a screening of Israelism, a 2023 documentary that delves into the journey of American Jews confronting the reality of occupation, as they question their education, and join the movement for Palestinian Liberation.
Directed by Erin Axelman and Sam Eilertsen, the film follows two young American Jews raised to unconditionally love Israel, however when they witness the way Israel treats Palestinians, their lives take sharp turns. Their stories reveal a deepening generational divide over modern Jewish identity.
The screening will be followed with a discussion with speaker, Leslie Welsh, a Jewish American, history educator.
